Level 2 Food Hygiene

This qualification is aimed at food handlers employed in the catering business preparing food. All catering businesses have a legal responsibility to train their staff in matters of food hygiene. In this session we will cover:
* The importance of personal responsibility for food safety
* The legal responsibilities of food handlers and food business operators
* The importance of personal hygiene in food safety
* Effective personal hygiene practices, including protective clothing, hand washing and personal illnesses
* The importance of pest control
* The sources and risks to food safety from contamination and cross-contamination
* Stock control procedures including deliveries, storage, date marking and stock rotation
* How to deal with food spoilage including recognition, reporting and disposal.

A short multiple choice exam will be held at the end of the day. You will need photographic ID to take the exam.

Please ensure if you book a place, that you attend the session. If you wish to cancel you must do so 2 weeks before, otherwise we are unable to subsidise your booked place. If places are cancelled within 2 weeks of the course date, a cancellation fee of £50 is payable, for whatever the reason of cancellation. The cancellation fee is also applicable if you do not show on the day.

* Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

Setting good personal boundaries is critical to creating healthy relationships, increasing self- esteem and reducing stress, anxiety and depression. Boundaries protect your personal self by setting a clear line between what is me and what is not me. A lack of boundaries opens the door for others to determine your thoughts, feelings, and needs. Defining boundaries is a process of determining what behaviour you will accept from others and what you will not. At home or in the workplace, learning how to set clear boundaries with family, colleagues, clients will help you to create structure, understand what is important and even create an exit strategy as and when appropriate particularly in our ever changing world.
This course will help you to:
Define the meaning and importance of boundaries
Understand the different types of boundaries and needs
Explore advantages of clear healthy boundaries with others
